Released in 2025: Version 14.0 of the Johns Hopkins ACG System

We’re excited to announce the release of ACG System v14.0! This update includes thoughtful enhancements aimed at supporting ACG System users with more precise, effective decision-making, and includes critical revisions to model recalibration to ensure correct and consistent output scores. Read on to learn more about the importance of this recalibration.

Model Recalibration

Enhancements

As health care continues to evolve rapidly, it’s vital to keep our predictive models accurate and dependable. Many dynamic factors are in play:

  • Changes in population demographics
  • Introduction of new diseases
  • Medical advancements
  • Varied health care costs
  • Access to patient care
  • Improved clinical documentation

This latest version with innovative model recalibration ensures our output scores align with the latest health care practices and data. Predictive models may become obsolete without these updates, resulting in incorrect clinical decisions and possibly worse patient outcomes.

This recalibration involved several key steps aimed at enhancing predictive accuracy.

  • Using a large set of new data, we updated model coefficients and weights to improve accuracy of predictive models
  • We thoroughly evaluated all model variables to ensure relevance and effectiveness in the current health care landscape
  • New modeling techniques were evaluated to enhance their performance and flexibility, guaranteeing the models are strong and adaptable

Why is this important?

Regular model recalibration delivers reliable, data-driven insights. With these regular updates, we avoid the degradation in model accuracy that can occur over time. This ultimately improves patient outcomes and ensures high levels of trust in your organization.
