Analysis using ACG System demonstrates value of Direct Primary Care

KPI Ninja, a leading health care analytics and performance improvement company, utilized the ACG System to demonstrate the positive impact in health and health care costs for a large Colorado school district using a direct primary care (DPC) model. Annual health care costs for Nextera Healthcare DPC-enrolled members were 27% less than they were for non-DPC members, when risk adjusted using models and clinical markers from the ACG System. DPC-enrolled plan members visited urgent care 40% less and the ER 9% less than non-DPC members. Meaningful improvements were identified in inpatient visits, hospital outpatient services, and disease-specific cost of care for diabetes, asthma, and other chronic conditions.
